Based in Los Angeles, Dane has been a professional in the arts for nearly two decades. His multifaceted career has provided him with a wealth of experience across the diverse landscape of Contemporary Art. Most recently, Dane was a Director and Auctioneer with Bonhams in Los Angeles, consigning works for sales in Los Angeles, New York, London and Hong Kong. Of particular note were seven-figure offerings from the Margit Mondavi collection in Napa, California and a major corporate collection in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He authored several important new initiatives for Bonhams including a curated selection of Op Art for three auctions in the US and in the UK which were all 100% sold and set world auction records for several artists. As a curator, he produced exhibitions for the Wattis Institute of Contemporary Art, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Oakland Museum of California among others. Dane was previously the Gallery Director for Moss, the contemporary design gallery founded by Murray Moss in New York, as well as the Director on the West Coast for the Earl McGrath Gallery in Los Angeles. He has a BA in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MA in Curatorial Practice from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
